Dockside Green, Victoria B.C., Canada

Dockside Green is the first prize entry in a competition for a redevelopment master plan for an abandoned 15 acre industrial site on Victoria’s inner harbor.  The ambitious project is the world’s first LEED Platinum planned community of 1.3 million square feet of mixed use space including a dedicated amount of harbor related light industry.  Phase I and II have been completed as well as the first 2 of 6 planned office buildings.  The waste wood gasification plant provides power and hot water to the community – sewage treatment and storm water management are also handled on site. Central to the stormwater system, the linear greenway meandering through the site has become a defining iconic feature for Dockside Green.
